Alabama Baptists End Convention Without School Issue Vote

Alabama Baptists closed their annual convention in Mobile after withdrawing a memorial proposing a constitutional amendment to bar public funds from church schools. The move avoided debate on separation of church and state, a first amendment matter. A Decatur Central Baptist Church session is planned for November 14-16, with Dr. Henry A. Parker to preach the sermon. New members joined the state executive board from multiple Alabama cities.
