Birminghams Christmas Savings Clups Boost Ready Cash
Birmingham and its utility and banking institutions announce a surge of prepared cash for residents through Christmas savings clubs and prior deposits. Free quarters of a million dollars will be distributed over the next 90 days to elect customers with good payment records. Checks for returned deposits with interest at eight percent go to electricity customers and others with Christmas savings accounts. Banks plan mailed checks exceeding $60,000 between December 16 and January 15. Additionally Alabama Power reports about $888,000 in dividend checks to be mailed on January 2 and February 1 for preferred stock records.
