John Markland of Dothan was seriously injured early today when struck by a car driven by H C Williams at the Columbia and Shore highway intersection. Williams, four feet from Kirkland before he saw him, told police he swerved to avoid the truck. Kirkland was taken to a hospital in serious condition. the investigation is ongoing.
