Week opens with multiple guilty pleas in county court
The vicennial court week opened with several defendants pleading guilty or being disposed of before dinner. Among those fined were Lee Bennett for carrying a concealed pistol and Tip Box for shooting on a public road. Burglary defendants LB Carroll Henry Walker and Henry Strother pled guilty and faced hard labor plus costs. Henry Strother received a year with additional daily costs. Will Philips’s case for manslaughter was continued. Spence Johnson and Reuben Holmes pled guilty to charges with fines. Oscar White and Will Powell, the murder cases, were scheduled for late November dates.

Death of Mrs Roland at South Andrews Street Home
