Napier Field presents About Face a musical comedy satire on Army life tonight with an all soldiers cast. The first production of the post season it will entertain 63 enlisted men officers and civilian employees. Produced under the Special Service Department led by Lt Nel Israelson with director Fred Ingerman and assistant director Cpl Ethel Wilson.

An English couple and two children were sentenced to three months hard labor for neglecting six children aged three months to 13 years. Authorities described filthy rooms and dirty bed linen in squalid conditions. the family shared beds and wore filthy, verminous clothing.
The Ministry of Agriculture plans 20 000 acres for experimental peanut planting to show farmers uses of peanuts. Ten thousand acres will be devoted to a similar project for rice beans and corn staples in the Brazilian diet. Modern farm equipment from the United States will be imported to run the programs.
A World War II report by Glen S Criducil describes Dothan youths Thomas and Thorp engaging Japanese forces near St Louis. After dawn the Americans counted fifty dead and recovered mortars machine guns and hand grenades while the two boys fought their way back sustaining injuries and casualties among the enemy.
After an explosion at the propane plant, a stampede wounded many and disrupted power service. Glass victim died, Culpepper survived briefly, and four firefighters plus a reserve were hospitalized. A 10,000 gallon propane tank burned as police kept crowds away. Power restored to 40 percent by morning, with full recovery pending high tension line repairs. Multiple unidentified soldiers received medical treatment.

Corporal Edward T. Williams of Ozark receives commendation from his commanding officer for reliability and application to duty with the IX Troop Carrier Command in Europe. The award notes his ingenuity operating navigational occult aids during training and airborne operations, while he was on individual assignment. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Ralph Williams of Tallahassee and nephew of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Williams of Ozark.
Mrs Earl McClendon sustained a foot injury after a stair step fall in a hall beside Knight Grocery Company facing the rear alley. She was transported to a Dothan hospital where X rays were planned to assess injuries.
Boys of seventeen who wish to join the Enlisted Reserve Corps may enter the Army Specialized Training Reserve program offering free college training. They must act by January 1, 1945. Captain J H Patterson Jr commanding the U S Army Recruiting Station Montgomery announced today. Complete information may be obtained from the Montgomery station.
Two Ashford brothers, Staff Sergeant J Wallace Lambert and Seaman Second Class J Curtis Lambert, reunited in the Netherland East Indies on Oct 1 after 2 1/2 years apart. They spent a 24 hour leave sharing experiences. J Wallace Lambert earned the Good Conduct Medal.
