Cotton Insurance Program For 1947 Completed Here
The 1947 cotton insurance program for Houston County farmers is complete and the Production and Marketing Administration office in the courthouse annex is ready to accept policy applications. Director Jesse Culbreth says the program has been revised with better crop coverage and more complete terms. Last year 454 contracts were filed. 325 would have faced losses without insurance, and many farmers have already been paid or will receive benefits after claims are adjudicated. Per acre insurance depends on level, farm coverage group, and production stage reached before damage.
