Funeral Held for Dixie Conrad Former Dothan Man
The funeral for Dixie Conrad 35 of Jacksonville Florida formerly of Dothan was held at his aunt Mrs. L. Z. Kingly home on Apple Tree Street. He moved from Dothan in 1918 and was killed while visiting Live Oak. Survivors include brothers C. L. Conrad and J. P. Conrad and five sisters including Lillie Ussery, W. O. Williamson, Mrs. Jake Cobb, Zula Goldberg, and Francis Rutherford. Pallbearers listed and burial in Cowarts cemetery with Fellows and Forrester.

U S Cotton Crop Estimate Higher
The U S Department of Agriculture estimated the current cotton crop at 11 947 000 bales, up from 11 425 000 last month, with last year about 18 000 000. Alabama’s crop was put at 865 000 bales and ginned bales before November 1 totaled 9 245 000. New Orleans reports cotton prices down 1 50 per bale amid the release.
