Capone Twin Set To Begin Prison Term For Tax Case

Ralph Capone will depart today for Leavenworth to begin a three year sentence for income tax violations. He surrendered to federal authorities after a night in Cook County Jail where his brother Al Capone had stayed. The younger Capone arrived from Florida and quipped that the media solved the problem by sending him to prison. He was photographed behind bars as he was processed.

Three Indicted In Theft Case In Cottonwood

Augustus Whidden admitted stealing seventy five dollars from the R O Wells store safe at Cottonwood. Whidden and two others alias Palmore Smith and Johnnie Ward were indicted on charges of receiving or concealing stolen property. Whidden said the money was not returned.

San Antonio Nov 6 AP Rep Harry Wurzbach Republican dies at hospital here from complications after an appendectomy. Wurzbach represented Texas 14th district and was the only Republican in Congress from the state. His death further narrows the administration party’s strength in Washington.
