Blonde and two men charged with homicide after beating of wealthy jeweler

Nov 2 AP report says a wealthy jeweler died after being beaten at a speakeasy. Police say $1800 was taken during the robbery. Suspects include a blonde woman who gave the name Eleanor Thompson, 22, and two male associates Homer Newberry and Nee Ganz. Milner, a French visitor, was beaten and robbed in the same venue. the trio protest innocence as detectives pursue the case.

Judge Puts Prohi Violators Behind Bars

In circuit court Judge H A Pearce sentenced several defendants for prohibition violations. Bar ney Cobb Thomas Hicks John Richard Palmore and Theodore Sellers faced manufacturing and possession charges. Some cases were not pressed and others had suspended sentences. Shelby Mooring received hard labor for assault. Dan Finkler and Dan Me were not pressed on several charges and Allen Cherry's assault cases were dropped.

A pound supper and square dance will be held at the American Legion clubhouse tomorrow night after the Disabled American Veterans meeting. Rev. Ruppert G. Witt who vanished from Mobile Alabama weeks ago is in Long Beach under friends care. He has stayed at the YMCA and spoken daily with Rev. Perry G. M. Forty Seven Million Eligible To Vote In 1932 Election

The Associated Press reports forty seven million people qualified to vote for the 1932 presidential election, up from 1928. State figures show 46,965,230 eligible nationwide, with registrations higher in most states though declines occurred in Arkansas Delaware Georgia Idaho Pennsylvania Texas and in Minnesota Wyoming in some cases due to conservative estimates.
