In Anniston May 27 AP says a coroner's inquest opened to hear conflicting statements from Mrs W C Gunn about the shooting near Oxford. Mrs Gunn said three men halted their car and robbed them while Mr Gunn fired, but Mr Gunn later denied firing and said the robbers took more than $8 after killing him. A pistol with a spent cartridge was found near Choccolocco creek bridge. The coroner's jury planned to reconvene at Oxford around noon.
