Slated At Bluff Springs aces Day service planned

A community program at Bluff Springs Church on Sunday afternoon will feature Chaplain Carrel as speaker along with readings, music, and the national anthem. The event, organized for boys connected with the church, includes prayers, a poem reading, a violin solo, and the Rev J W Wate delivering the dedicatory prayer.

Nurses Graduation Program Announced at Fraiser-Ellur School

Graduating exercises for the class of 1043 of Fraiser-Ellur School of nursing will be held at eight o'clock tonight at the Nurses Home. Diploma recipients include Jewell Bernes, Margaret Hammac, Sadie Frances Carroll, Frances Temples, Mable Kelly, Mary Ellen Carroll, and Inez Herndon. Rabbi Alfred Wolf will give the principal address and Dr John T. Elva will present the diplomas. An informal reception will follow for graduates and guests.

Recreation Center Opens Saturday In Dothan

After weeks of delay the Dothan Recreation Center at Burdeshaw and Foater streets announces an informal open on Saturday with a dance at 8 pm by Camp Rucker orchestra. Regular programs start Monday and a formal dedication will follow. Access for soldiers and families includes a lobby, club room, showers, kitchen, soda fountain, and a large dance floor. An administrative advisory committee led by James F. Spann will oversee operations with Mrs W Johnson in charge of the kitchen and W D Hewee as city director.
