The Montgomery AP reports Ben Goltesia and a growers association formed in Choton City to buy and use Taming orsimilar berries. They expect about 1,000,000 pounds annually for various uses including wine, noting high berry yields despite rare cultivation and urging expansion for profitability.
The State National Bank of Decatur and associates bid on a 2,009,003 highway bond issue with a favorable ruling expected by bond attorney. The winning bid beat Thorsten Maule and Company syndicate, backed by state warrants. Highway Director Ward McFarland and others praised the Decatur bid as favorable for the project.
