New Canned Cream Promises Shelf Life Infinitely
A Wisconsin plant cans cream without preservatives for global distribution, claiming taste remains unchanged and that the product requires no refrigeration until opened. Two varieties are offered: an 18.5 percent buttermilk fat coffee cream and a heavy whipping cream, with plans for a 46 ounce dual light and whipping cream can. The company asserts it tolerates tropical heat in storage with no quality loss, per tests. Louisiana agriculture official W. E. Anderson notes the innovation could impact dairy trade.
