Two Dothan Negroes, Albert Vickers and Curtis Miller, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to grand larceny and received five year sentences. They were charged with taking a watch and money from another Negro. Otis Roberts and John Donnell, indicted for receiving or concealing stolen property in a hog stealing ring, were convicted and sentenced to two years each. Both filed notices of appeal. Sam Thomley was acquitted on grand larceny. Helen Bevel was fined one dollar and costs for abusive language. A breach of peace appeal from Inferior Court was dismissed. A reckless driving case against James Earl Williams was not pressed. Raymond Q. Hutto’s $500 bond was forfeited after he failed to appear. Trial of Otis Parish, charged with selling property, began and continued. James Morris Tharp, indicted for first degree murder in Joseph P. Hall’s death, faces trial tomorrow along with Alus Hughes, Cecil Lane, and Donnell O. Wilson.
