Philadelphia May 12 AP Women have won equal voice with men in Presbyterian church government in the United States. The overture permitting women to be elected ruling elders was approved by 151 of 293 presbyteries and requires a 147 vote to adopt. It allows women as members of congregational pension boards and at all denominational levels. the overture to ordain ministers was defeated. A separate overture on licensed evangelists was in doubt.
