Dorothy Dix on war, mothers, and temptations in wartime
Dorothy Dix discusses how war exposes teenage girls to danger and the blame placed on mothers for their daughters actions. She condemns permissive attitudes, urges protection of young women, and condemns mothers who fail to guard them. The column then shifts to readers’ questions about marriage, money, and fidelity, offering blunt advice on money, loyalty, and suitors in military life.
