Southside Circles Hold Mission Study

The Southside Baptist Woman's Missionary Society met for mission study by Circles with reports from the Macey Givins and Lena Avery circles. New member John Atkins welcomed. eight at roll call, nine at Ida Dykes Circle. Catherine Lane left for the University of North Carolina after a visit with her mother and Evelyn Tindel also visited Graceville.

Young Adult Class Leaders Appointed

Sunday merger at the Young Adult Presbyterian meeting names Nick Saad president and announces committee changes for the next quarter. William Bees chaired the 1K Committee. Mise Mire Via Knight and others named as committee members. Community members welcomed, and a church service is planned at Old Fo ship Church south of Agtechs on March 31 with Elizabeth Maitene and the family in attendance.

Mrs Childs Hosts Wesleyan Guild Meeting

Circles Of Baptist Woman's Society Meet In Homes For Prayer

The First Baptist Woman's Missionary Society held afternoon meetings in members’ homes for Mission Study and prayer in preparation for revival services. Circles hosted by Mrs. Pettigrew, Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Gaines, and others reported members present, visitors, and readings from The Entrusted Letter and Shining Like the Stars. Nine to fifteen members attended across circles with several new members joining.

Floral art school tickets offered by Cherokee Garden Club

Flower lovers are asked to reserve seats for the Floral Art School at the Recreation Center on April 4. Contact Mrs. Morris Malone or Mrs. G. Elson between 3:00 and 9:00 pm, with reservations due by April 2. Mrs. J. J. Weller of Norfolk will conduct classes on gardens and flowers. A Cherokee Club meeting is set for Thursday at ten oclock to finalize arrangements.

The Alabama College Alumnae host a luncheon in the Terrace Ballroom Tutwiler Hotel on Thursday March 27 at 12 30 during the state meeting of the Alabama Education Association with Dean T H Napier as guest speaker Tickets are 1 50 per plate and available on the mezzanine floor Miss Sue Keerts of Winfield and Mrs Sarah Thompson Edge of Wadley join Omicron Nu the National Honorary Society of Home Economics The initiation followed a supper and theatre party Highlights of Citizenship Day include an address by Dr Austin Meadows state superintendent of education at Palmer Auditorium March 23 and a luncheon for the class of 1947 in the New Dining Hall Dr Meadows an Alabama graduate and Columbia PhD holder has taught in Alabama schools headed science at Dapane State Normal and authored articles and a book on Pupil Transportation in Southern States After the address Miss Mary G Decker will lead the Citizenship Oath and the audience will sing America the Beautiful with a recessional by LeBaron.

Grandview W M S Holds Monthly Business Meeting

The Grandview Baptist Woman's Missionary Society met at the church Monday afternoon with vice president Mrs. Lowell Deese presiding in place of president Mrs. G H Caraway. Officers reported, members packed clothing for a Troy orphanage child, and devotional sevices were led by Mrs. M C Peak and prayers by several members.
