Mrs. John Rish hosted the Round Table pee Club gathering Tuesday afternoon at 20. Speakers Mrs. Roy Hill and Mrs. Thomas Penton spoke on Atomic Energy and Transportation. A social hour followed with a luncheon plate and iced drinks for members including Mrs. Bates Faulkner Flurry Hill Jones Mathis Roberts Penton Adams.

Workers Council Supper Meet at Lafayette Street Church

The Workers Council of the Lafayette Street Methodist Church held a supper at the church Wednesday night with forty two members present. Harry Prim, general superintendent of the Sunday School, presided. Dr. Baker and Mrs. Baker were special guests. The council set attendance quotas of 500 for Palm Sunday and 600 for Easter Sunday.

Mrs. C L Morgan and Mrs Harold Coe hosted Circle Seven of Lafayette Street Methodist W S C S Tuesday at 7 30. Devotional Thou Art Our Father by Miss Jewel Story followed by Miss Maude Baughman’s response. Leaflet Children and Their Church studied by Mrs J S Bailey with aides Mrs Luther Snell, Mrs J M Powell Jr, Mrs C T Goolsby, Miss Maude Baughman and Mrs C A Lawrence. Seventeen members attended one new member and one visitor.

Ozark Women Meet for Hymns and Mission Report

Ozark W M A Women’s Circle met at the Snellgrove home Monday night at 7 30 with Mrs J A Matthews and Misses Mamie and Bonnie Snellgrove hosting. A program on The Story of Hymns featured readings by Elizabeth Perry Elizabeth Collins and Jessie B Cansler and songs led by Mary Helen Andrews sewing circle members and guests attended the social hour and refreshments were served by the hostesses.

Peters Family Hosts 85th Birthday Celebration

Annual Columbia mother daughter banquet fills CHS hall

Columbia High School auditorium hosted the annual mother daughter and father son banquet on Thursday night March 13 at 7 30. Blue and gold streamers red and white crepe paper balloons and greenery decorated the room. Mrs Homer Alford gave the response and Max Lasseter of FLOFA introduced guests. A short play Henrys Mail or Wife was performed with club members singing between scenes. About 150 students and guests attended.

Huntingdon Host At Tea For Alumnae Members

Huntingdon College plans a social tea during the Alabama Education Association convention in Birmingham. The March 28 event, 4 to 6 pm, in the Tutwiler Hotel Coronial Room, honors AEA alumnae and invites all Huntingdon alumnae and students in the Birmingham area. Principal organizers include President Hubert Searcy and Dean Marylee Collins.
