Hartford society notes and visits headline.

Hartford Mra, Angus Smith entertained the members of her class Saturday evening at her home. Mrs. Blake Danson returned from a visit with relatives in Birmingham Gadsden and other points. Several Hartford residents visited relatives and attended funerals in Camden Enterprise Montgomery and Marianna. Local clubs held meetings including Clifford Lanier Chapter U D Co and Hartford Music Study Club with programs on Negro Music.

Four Men Probed as Jury Tampering Case Sentences

In Tampa on March 15 AP report three of four men tried for attempting to influence prospective jurors in the Louis A Leagine murder case were jailed 20 to 90 days. Bam Blackburn got 30 days, later stayed for witness questioning. Charles Wilson 90 days. E Baumgartner 60 days. Tom Hunter was discharged for lack of evidence. Baumgartner’s two counts run concurrently due to illness. Leagine faced the electric chair.
