Aged Woman Breaks Collarbone During Aid to Husband
Mrs. J. A. Curry, 72, of Midland City route 2, was recovering from a prior collarbone fracture when she and her aged husband attempted to walk to their son J. H. Curry’s home 400 yards away. He lost balance and she fell, breaking her collarbone. They lay in the road until help arrived. she was taken to a local hospital for treatment and returned home after the shoulder was set.

Noah M. Johnson 54 a member of Coffee County commission died at his South Carmichael Street home after a brief pneumonia illness. Funeral services set for 2:30 this afternoon. He had lived in Enterprise two years since election and previously resided in Goodman Community. He was a Baptist, a noted seven shape singer, and operator of a store with farming interests. Survived by widow four sons Roman and David of Goodman George and Curtis of Enterprise two daughters Carrie Jones and Estelle Fradley and several grandchildren.

Laurel Mississippi March 14 AP Frank Lee once a Cotton States and Texas League pitcher and former department store robber was jailed after a courthouse escape. He broke through a screen, fled to the home of Dr R C Mathis, demanded a gun and coat, was refused, and recaptured in a garage. Lee had been in Parchman prison and was brought to testify in a criminal case. He had been farmed out to Houston in the Texas League by the St Louis Cardinals who had bought him from Laurel in Cotton States loop.
