Democrats Bind In Caucus To Back Economy Plan

In a rare supreme party move Senate Democrats caucused to pledge support for Roosevelt's economy bill breaking with past practice. Luke Lea and Son Arrested in Clarksville

Luke Lea and his son Luke Jr were arrested in Clarksville Tennessee on warrants signed by Governor McAlister. A writ of habeas corpus was granted shortly after their arrest and a hearing was set for Monday morning. They had been under conviction in North Carolina for violating banking laws. Sheriff Beaumont of Montgomery County made the arrest at the request of Sheriff Brown of Asheville who accompanied the local officer.

Pneumonia Fatal To Local Man Father Of Dothan Woman

A. A. McKenzie aged 70 father of Mrs. Sam Nolan of Dothan died at his Black Alabama home after a brief pneumonia illness. Burial was in the Black cemetery at dawn today. Survived by his daughter in Dothan, five others including Mrs. Betty VanLandingham of Dupont Georgia and Mrs. Jessie Crawford of Andalusia, plus three sons Bud Comer and Katy McKenzie of Black and three daughters Una Zadora and Katrine McKenzie of Black.
