Woman Dies While Visiting In Geneva

Miss Corinne Distakes aged 45 died in Geneva at her sister Mrs. J W Beasteys home after months of illness. She resided in Union Springs and was visiting Geneva when she passed. Funeral services were held at Union Springs Methodist Church with Rev Budd of Tinton Springs and Rev J W Horn of Geneva officiating. She is survived by four brothers Dr J J Dismukes of Geneva Dr Henry Dismukes of Minter Rev J B Dismukes of Union Springs and Clifford Dismukes of Union Springs.

Negroes Post Bond On Liquor Charges

Two negroes were freed under 300 dollars bond after arrest Saturday night by county officers for possessing liquor. A small quantity was found in their possession. Four other persons charged with drunkenness complied with arrests by county officers during the weekend.

Man Entering Private Residence Jailed On Drunkenness Charge

A man knocked and entered the home of J. Z. Sojo on Park Avenue in Dothan early Sunday morning and remained inside to keep warm until police arrived. He was detained and taken to the city jail on a drunkenness charge. no theft was reported.

Malone Attends Finance Board Meeting in Birmingham

George H. Malone, adviser for the Reconstruction Finance Corp, leaves for Birmingham to join a conference on board work and Birmingham branch policy. He is joined by T. J. Former Resident Dothan Passes At Home Near Opp

M H Jones longtime Dothan resident and uncle of Roy Hill died at home near Opp Alabama Saturday. He moved to Opp from Lawrenceville in 1889 and married Minnit, a Dothan native. Vandals damage Alcazar Theatre equipment

Vandals damaged projection machines and sound gear at the Alcazar Theatre last night or today. Manager Jack Revolt Jr says losses total about 2000 with no insurance. The screen was unharmed, two machines jammed and some parts stolen, delaying Saturday night preview. Police are investigating. two suspects detained. County officials not notified.

Hundreds viewed two charred corpses recovered from a car wreck near Bonifay Florida as authorities sought positive identifications.
