Lifelong Enterprise Citizen, Grandmother Of 105, Dies At 81
Julia Ann Smith, 81, of Enterprise, died at her daughter’s home in Goodman community Saturday night. She was a lifelong resident, widow of Bud Smith, and a member of the Methodist church. Survived by seven daughters including Joan Bradley and Alto Watkins, four sons, 50 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, and other relatives. Funeral at Goodman Church led by Rev. T. P. Plant. burial in adjacent cemetery. Searcy Funeral Home handled arrangements.

State Merit System Examinations Due
MONTGOMERY AP Anouncing merit system examinations for nine job classifications were announced by the State Personnel Board as additional tests to fill the employment register. Examinations were funded by a $5,000 allocation from Gov. James F. Foteam's emergency fund last week. Roles include ware house supervisor, income tax examiner, tax liability analyst, chief clerk and several levels of stack clerks.
