Ozark social notes from Mrs Doughtie and clubs
Mrs. Lewie Seay hosted a Friday bridge party with decorative camellias and daffodils. Prizes went to Mrs. H. D. Casey Sr, Mrs. Grover Flowers, and Mrs. Harry Mixon. Other guests included Mrs. J. H. Kelley and Mrs. Noel Andrews Sr. The Tuesday bridge by Mrs. Casey featured pink camellias and navcissi with prizes to Mrs. R. B. Sheppard and Mrs. C. E. Loftin. The Matrons Study Club met at Mrs. L. F. Doughtle’s home for the annual business meeting with a George Washington birthday theme. Officers were nominated for the next year. The Ozark Book Club, Ozark Study Club, and WMA activities at the Baptist Church highlighted the week with programs on missions, music, and civic duties. A note urged Dale County High School patrons to donate periodicals to the library. The Caspian Sea drainage fact closes the column.
