Coroner Orders Inquest Into Unknown Man's Death
A coroner's inquest was to be held in Fort Pierce over the death of an unidentified man whose body was found in the ocean off Cape Canaveral last Friday by a trawler from the Vero Beach naval air station. Fingerprints did not match those from a West Palm Beach man, and the decedent's prints were sent to the FBI for possible identification. The man was described as 45 to 60 years old, five feet six inches, about 115 pounds, wearing a green sport shirt, blue trousers, a white sweatshirt, and a coat when found.

Former governor Harold Stassen urges Republicans to back a national labor peace act similar to Minnesota's 1939 program. He touts conciliation and cooling-off measures, democratic union decisions, and special courts to settle jurisdictional disputes. Stassen, newly out of the Navy, argues for younger leadership and action to prevent drift and secure peace.
