A remodeling contract for a J. L Newberry Co store branch in a former bank and Jitney Jungle building was let to H H Brown. Youths Work Program Aids District Employment

About 100 youths in the district participate in the National Youth Administration program to provide job training for WPA families offspring. Nationally, J. P. Morrison notes 40 youths in Houston county California are employed in clerical and sewing work, with others in nearby counties. Children perish in Tampa fire in Latin section

Veteran Confederate J Hodge dies at 92 in Hartford

J Hodge a Confederate veteran of four years service died at his Hartford home after a brief illness. Born in 1844 in Henry County, he moved to Geneva in 1884 and became a leading farmer and landowner. Survived by his second wife, three daughters, two sons, and several grandchildren.
