Auto Fatally Injures Girl At Enterprise

Eight year old Kath Dean Ward, daughter of Mrs Burdean Ward and Kyner Ward, died after being struck by a car driven by Mrs J J Fawlk in Enterprise near Main and Lee Streets. The child, born in Pike County, lived with grandparents Mr and Mrs J R Manning. Funeral services were held Monday at Joquan Cemetery Crenshaw County. Searcy Funeral Homes handled the burial. Survived by sister Betty Joan Ward.

Meany Youths Answer Call For Aviators

Dennis of the United States Employment Service says many youths aged 17 to 26 are joining a cooperative program to begin steps toward serving as pilots navigators and bombardiers in the United States Army Air Forces without leaving home.
