In Wolcott Connecticut June 25 AP report says John Crowe 65 a hermit killer fired on Clarence Yuskis Jr killing him and mortally wounding Julius Karvauskas before fleeing into Wolcott woods. A siege of the Crowe shack followed with machine guns tear gas and bloodhounds as officers sought the fugitive who disappeared into the woodland area. Mrs Yuskis who fought Crowe with a watering pot was later discharged from hospital. Police noted Crowe's knowledge of the area aided his escape and called in help from Prospect for a cave lead.

Geneva Man Arrested On U S Indictment In Freight Car Theft
