Funeral for R. L. Arnold Held After Suicide in Alabama
Funeral services for R. L. Arnold, 34, were held at Rocky Branch church with Rev. M. J. Baldwin officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Arnold, described as mentally unbalanced, killed himself with his landlord’s shotgun at the landlord’s home on Dothan route one. He is survived by his widow, daughter Betty Jean, parents G. W. and (Mrs.) Arnold, three brothers, and two sisters. The event occurred yesterday morning after he retrieved the weapon and used a fly swatter to pull the trigger.
