A. G. Jones of Newville Alabama arrived Tuesday to enroll in a bookkeeping and stenography course at Dothan Business College.
L. N. Hansell and Miss Pearl Harrison were married Wednesday night at the bride’s parents home on North Oates street. Few friends attended along with immediate relatives. Mrs. Hansell is the Harrison daughter and the groom, son of Capt. J. B. Hansell, with ties to the Waycross Coast Line.
The Farmers Union moves to purchase the Coast Line warehouse, now run by E. P. Holland for the past three to four years. Owners proposed buying the lease to free the property for sale to the union, with the building to be operated by union officials under their direction.

A forthcoming July Alabama legislature meeting will consider a relief bill for Athena Rivers, colored, for overtime served in the Alabama state penitentiary. Rivers was wrongfully sentenced from Henry County Circuit Court in Columbia on July 14 1898 for Attempt to murder by poison. Clerical error labeled her term as 20 years, causing about 2 years of extra service until her death May 31 1907. Also note Miss Elsie Ham began stenography at Dothan Business College this week.
The list for the upcoming term includes J. W. Brown as Superintendent and M. H. Pearson as High School Principal. Grammar School Principal H. C. Carslisle, High School English and History O. L. Tompkins, with several named female teachers across multiple towns. A few more instructors are expected to be added as yet unheard from.
Department of the Interior notices William Powell of Dothan Alabama filed proof in support of his homestead claim for parcel SE 14 of the No 4 Section 13 Township 2 North Range 26 East. Publication required in the Oathon Eagle weekly for four weeks. He must plead by June 15 1907 or a decree pro confesso may be entered. Dothan May 1907. J M Cody Register. Judge Parsons of Montgomery arrived in the city yesterday and hinted at a proposed branch court for the wiregrass area. He notes strong points in favor and says the move would be a money saver for the government.
