Future Farmers See Industrial Plants At Alabama Tour
Alabama members of the Future Farmers of America toured industrial plants and dairy and packing concerns as part of the 18th annual convention in Birmingham. Election of officers was set for later, with Bill Morgan of Morgan City Miss national vice president slated to speak at the closing session. State FFA director Jo C. Cannon announced a possible state camp with $10,000 set aside for the project as about 600 delegates listened. Ray Gipson of Collinsville won a state honor for outstanding first year activity. district winners were J D Early Cedar Bluff Buck Madde Andalusia Bob Salmon Auburn William D. Pace Askland and Vernon Mullins Huntsville. The State Farmer degree, the top FFA award, was presented to 83 members.

Funeral services for Joe H. Fussell who died at his home in New Brockton were held at the First Methodist Church with Rev Dykes officiating. Boyd and Company arranged the services and Masonic rites were given at the graveside for the survivor, a widow, a son Lawrence Fussell of Pensacola, and three sisters Rachel Daniels Mae Kuss and Nan McGee all of Enterprise or Chancellor.
