Ale Sheffield July 26 AP The Alabama Federation of Labor pressed for a state law modeled on the NRA at the upcoming Legislature. W O Hare outlined a program including old age pension unemployment insurance workmen’s compensation and ratification of the Federal Child Labor Amendment. He said 115000 union members exist in Alabama now and predicted 160000 soon, urged support for Roosevelt and the WRA, and opposed a state printing plant for government use. He spoke amid questions from striking textile workers.
