Brookings Report Advises New Tax Four Levy Plans
MONTGOMERY Ala July 25 AP A Brookings Institution tax plan urges four levies on mercantile and manufacturing firms including a modified corporation franchise tax a net income tax a net value product tax and a flat minimum tax plus repeal of the chain store tax and changes to other motor fuel and public utility levies to boost state revenue while restraining evasion and supporting highway development.
