Bank Growth Sparks Move to Larger Dothan Site

The Dothan Bent and Trust Co expands after two decades of growth from 40000 in deposits to 1.26 million. The bank moves Monday to the former Houston National Bank building at North St Andrews and East Main Streets. The change follows years of steady deposit growth and a history of leadership under Porter and Flowers. The new quarters will offer expanded vault space and safety deposit boxes with no personnel changes.

Clearings Rise Across Major Cities Week End July 27

New York led in bank clearings with 4 975 281 000, a 15.8 percent year over year gain. Pacific coast cities showed the largest percentage increase, with gains also seen in Philadelphia Detroit Louisville and Minneapolis as the nationwide week for clearings totaled 3 625 613 000. Dillinger follower. woman in red tells new tale

Anna Sage, the woman in red, described John Dillinger as a criminal who loved reading his crime reports. She recounted his praise for Dillinger’s cleverness and recalled a June 1934 conversation about a bank holdup. Sage denied knowing Dillinger’s true identity, insisting she never aided police and that she never left Chicago.
