St Lawrence Seaway Project To Cost 800 Million

Communists Hospitalized After State Convention Luncheon

More than 100 Communists fell ill after a luncheon at their state convention in Massillon Ohio. Physicians suspected poisoning from potato salad luncheon meats and coffee. Hospitals were taxed as patients, with all but six reported well and discharged overnight. The food was sent to the state health department for analysis.

Oxford Mississippi July 18 AP Sheriff T S Lyles says he will press murder charges against Jesse Tatum after his wife burned to death in a car blaze while he and Mrs Tatum were returning from St Louis where they had married two months earlier. The earlier wife died last Labor Day in a shotgun accident ruled accidental by a coroner's jury.

Negro Home at 110 S Alice St Destroyed by Fire

A dwelling at 110 South Alice Street occupied by Malle Willis, a Black resident, was destroyed by fire at noon on Sunday, with a reported loss of 500 dollars.
