Washington July 17 The 220 million tax suit against Andrew Mellon and other former treasury officials was dismissed today by Justice Proctor in the District of Columbia Supreme Court. The suit filed by David Olson, former investigator for the special senate committee, charged Mellon, former Secretary Mills and several others conspired to defraud the government in settlement of foreign steamship company taxes. If Olson amends the suit, the dismissal ends the case.
Mrs. L Collin, county child welfare agent in Dothan, appeals for public support to fund feed and clothe 18 destitute children at eight dollars monthly. Volunteers will canvass the city to solicit subscriptions to a prominent weekly, earning $1 for each $2 subscription, with proceeds covering the children’s board.
