Italian forces mobilize two new divisions for East Africa

Rome July 16 Italian militarists announced mobilization of two new divisions to speed up operations in East Africa. Officials said ten white divisions plus about 75,000 native troops in Eritrea and Somali areas would be sufficient for a Ethiopia push. Thousands volunteered for the Blackshirt division to fight Haile Selassie forces as 35,000 more joined the new Sita division. Total troops now ready for East Africa reach about 250,000 including regulars and Blackshirts.

Five candidates seek DAV national command in rehabilitation plank

A DAV convention in New Haven features five hopefuls for national commander each pledging rehabilitation as a core issue. Michael A. Stivers Milling to Open Flour Blending Plant in Rome

The Stivers Milling Company of Rome Georgia plans a flour blending plant in the old Ligdon warehouse on North Range Street to mix and sack flour from the Pacific coast as ground wheat. Remodeling began Monday with August 1 as the target readiness date. FE W Cook of the Bay Line railroad announced the arrival of the firm and predicted local employment and distribution growth. Hutchins Brokerage Company of Mobile opened a branch office on North Range Street managed by Richard Renner.

Abductors Free Screaming Girl Seized in Room

City Hangs Coal Contract Renewal On Incoming Council

At its last regular meeting the council moved to renew the National Coal and Coke Co. contract with Don Jerkins authorized to sign in place of Mayor Exell who refused. Tacoma July 16 AP Department of Justice agents joined a search with possemen for the slayer of two Puyallup policemen. Authorities suspected William Paynard as the alleged brains of the George Weverhaauarr kidnapping as the manhunt continued after a bank robbery on the road outside Puyallup ended in gunfire. Funeral services for Mrs. H. L. Holman Wednesday
