Winters, former Montgomery man, arrested in Arizona

E N Winters, formerly deputy collector of internal revenue in Montgomery, is under arrest in Bisbee Arizona on an embezzlement charge. He was indicted by a federal grand jury and surrendered to federal officers. He allegedly collected funds as deputy collector but failed to remit them to the government. He left Montgomery last April and had gone to aid Mexico before returning to face charges. Federal officials plan removal to Montgomery for the coming federal court session.
