Train wreckers derail New Orleans and Great Northern train
Jackson, Jan. 29. Fireman Lonnie Crawford was fatally injured and a negro passenger seriously hurt when a northbound New Orleans and Great Northern passenger train was derailed seven miles south of Jackson. Reported as the work of train wreckers, a switch was forced open with crow bars. The engine toppled into an embankment. Crawford was pulled from beneath the wrecked engine and rushed to Jackson. physicians say he has only a slight chance of recovery.

Woman strangled at Harrant Hotel in New York
