William Wrigley Jr, owner of the Chicago Cubs and noted financier, died in Phoenix Arizona at age 70. He had been ill since Jan 18 when acute indigestion followed a heart attack struck him, and was bedbound until death. His wife and two children were at his bedside.

Chicago January 26 AP Eddie Stinson famed aviator died from injuries after a Stinson-Detroiter crashed on a golf course near Nokes on Lake Michigan during a landing attempt. Three companions Clark Field John Tomking and Frederick Gilles injured seriously. Stinson credited with 24000 flying hours and 1605000 miles flown.
