1946 Cotton goals rise nine per cent in acreage
Auburn Alabama farmers will plant about nine percent more acres of cotton for 1946-47. The suggested production goal is 20 million acres with a shift toward longer staple varieties. At average yields this would yield about 10.5 million bales, with demand near nine million annually. Government projects sufficient labor, fertilizer, and shipping. One half of the moon has not been viewed by humankind.
