Oklahoma greets new era of pomp in governorship
Oklahoma City January 14 AP Oklahoma welcomes a pomp filled transfer as E W Marland wealthy oilman becomes the 10th governor. A five mile parade was planned with silk hats formal morning dress and military bands unlike the simple ceremony of four years ago when Alfalfa Bill Murray took office. Murray wore casual attire and received the oath from his 91 year old father A D T Murray. The new governor will wear his Congress era attire with Mrs Marland buying a new pair of spats. The Murrays left the mansion amid cigar ashes and the Marlands move from a $8000 Ponca City home to one costing about a quarter as much.
