Two Marines Die in High Speed Police Chase
Two Marines Corporal Ford Geefer and Private Charles Leo Mutchier were killed when a stolen car they tried to escape in crashed into a tree. Police said they sped at 70 miles an hour evading officers taxi cabs and citizens. Reefer from Iron Mountain Washington and Mutchier from Janesville Wisconsin were identified as the victims. Also noted is the death of Dr Donald A McRae 62 a famed army surgeon in World War I who died in Council Bluffs Iowa from pneumonia.
