Child Should Know Fear But Learn Confidence
Dr. Helen Ross argues fear can both protect and paralyze children. Parents must balance warning with reassurance, modeling calm responses to danger. Anxious parenting spreads anxiety, so guiding a child to handle fear without crippling tears is essential.

Fashions Show Hip Pockets Add New Style Effect
NEA service reports a spring trend with back hip pockets on women's wear. Pockets mostly hold a silk handkerchief for a light slip effect, paired with a wedgewood blue wool suit and peplum jacket. The look contrasts with front patch pockets on a formal coat dress and uses acorn brown tropical worsted with white pique details. Friends of Mrs Hugh Smyth report her move home after hospital treatment for injuries from a car crash. Her sister Maggie Liddon and daughter Mrs Howard Haygood join in Dothan. Hamilton Smith and Mr and Mrs W C Lidden return home from a visit.
