High School Grid Rules Are Changed
CHICAGO (AF) The National Interscholastic Football Committee announced three rule changes at its annual meeting led by Secretary H V Porter. A free kick replay will occur after a five yard penalty if the kick fails to cross the receiver’s restraining line and is not touched by a receiver. Encroachment on the neutral zone is defined as any contact by a player before the snap, preventing anticipation or charging. A handoff behind the line to an eligible player is not considered a forward pass.
