Widow of Gravel Pit Worker to Receive Compensation

The widow of B. M. Gulledge will receive two thirds of his weekly salary as compensation under CWA rules after Gulledge was killed when a gravel pit near Headland caved in. Columbia Man Dies After Long Illness

The Rev. M. F. Murdock, 74, of Columbia route two, died at home Tuesday at 10 a m after a long illness. He is survived by his widow two sisters Miss Melas Murdock and Miss Pyre Murdock and two daughters Mrs A E Kirkland and Mrs R R Roberts. New York January 9 AP Wall Street reports from Winston Salem indicate R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. raised wholesale cigarette prices to 6.10 dollars per thousand after discounts.
