Serious consideration is being given by young city business men to form a Junior Chamber of Commerce. Membership would be limited to men 35 and younger, with an auxiliary for wives sisters and mothers. The plan aims to foster civic progressiveness without conflicting with the Dothan Chamber of Commerce or other groups. Names of sponsors were not disclosed.

J. F. Antley and partners plan an athletic club with Turkish baths and modern exercising devices. An experienced trainer will lead, with women’s classes and modern methods of slimming. Expected membership is 200 with monthly dues. Boxing and wrestling will be taught.

Ben Clendinen Ill in New York Bedside

Former Dothan boy Ben Clendinen is seriously ill in a New York hospital. A telegram to his parents Mr and Mrs E. Clendinen says relatives should come at once. He attended the National Bible Institute and had been confined to his room with a kidney ailment that worsened overnight. His sister Louise Clendinon and brother in law W T Jones left for New York after wiring Dr Grady Pape to visit.

The Dothan Ice Cream Company will pasteurize milk with equipment costing about 15000 dollars and begin March 1 twice daily deliveries of sweet milk butter milk butter and cream. The company has absorbed two dairies and will take over their output and delivery routes while adding two new delivery trucks and reconfiguring the plant interior for the new equipment.
