City of Dothan tests a new closed type garbage truck. If the trial proves satisfactory, a purchase and months of testing follow, with potential replacement of open trucks. Officials say three workers suffice with the new trucks versus four now, and four trucks may cover routes that used five. Salary savings would repay costs in about 18 months, and the units are cleaner and reduce odors as waste stays contained.
