Grandmother gets life in bombing murder verdict
Mrs. Mabel Cline a 42 year old grandmother was sentenced to ten years for first degree manslaughter in the milk plant bombing that killed Ned van Merkenstein and Richard Richardson. Prosecution tied the bomb to her home and alibi discussions with undercover investigators after the crash followed a price war among milk distributors. Burge Gilpin testified he and Bridges built the explosive device in Cline's home. Gilpin and Bridges themselves were later sentenced to life.

Coroner G. M. Evans ruled Clement Shugerman a 29 year old bank employee died by his own hand. He was found shot in a garage at his home with a pistol and one exploded cartridge. Albert Rosenthal hired by Shugerman’s family will pursue further investigation. The victim was brother in law to Mrs Lena Belle Blumberg Shugerman of Dothan.

Edward Taylor 70, a former Dothan resident, died at his Deligrade Florida home. He was the father of John and Harvey Taylor and Mrs Dorg Spurgeon of Dothan. Sportsman escapes kidnapers after long captivity
Harry Blagden, 45, a wealthy New York Washington society figure, escaped after being kept prisoner since last Thursday. He staggered into a friend's Cleveland home suffering from knockout drops and fatigue. He had been moved by his captors from Saranac Lake to an uncertain location, then held in a windowless room above a garage before fleeing a guarding kidnapper.

States May Abolish Lame-Duck Congress Sessions

Injured Folmar Woman and Daughter Go Home
Mrs. George Folmar and her daughter Jean of Laverne Alabama were treated at a Dothan hospital after an automobile overturned near here. A tire blowout was blamed for the crash. The four year old suffered a head injury while the mother sustained multiple cuts and bruises.

More Pupils Hurt As Result Of Bus Crash Near Columbia
Three pupils injured in the school bus end log truck collision near Columbia were to leave one Dothan hospital this afternoon and two more were to return home tomorrow. Bonnie Mae Wright and Leroy Crawford remain hospitalized with stable conditions. Wade Lathram 36 formerly of Dothan died in Middleton Ohio late Sunday, learned today by friends.
