Brooklyn Syndicate Fails To Close Dodger Purchase Deal
The Brooklyn syndicate fails to buy a controlling stake in the National League Dodgers after a bid of 7 010 fails. Meyer and associates drop efforts citing heavy added financial burdens including unpaid debts of 150 000 to 200 000. They planned to pay 260 000 for 25 percent of the McKeever heirs stock and 750 000 for 55 percent of the late Ebbetts heirs, totaling 1 170 000.
